Unit 8  Birthdays第一课时教案

Teaching  Aims:

1.By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read, recognize, and use these words: birthday, play, game ,together,

these sentences: when’s… ? what do you do? and its answer.                                                            

2.By the end of the lesson, Ss can understand the storytime                                                  and Ss are able to talk about Su Hai ,Su Yang and Mike’s birthdays  and to use the sentence type to talk about their birthdays.Anyway, their abilities of listening ,speaking and writing will be developed.

3.to help students cultivate and foster their abilities of working in groups ,foster Ss’ consciousness of good-cooperation and proper competition. to help Ss cultivate their abilities to analyze and solve problems independently. to foster Ss’ initiative and creativeness.to help Ss to learn to care about parents, to recognize and identify the differences between Chinese and western cultures on birthdays , and recognize the world culture is fusion and arouse their love for parents.

Teaching Process:

一、Pre-reading:

1.Free talk. What’s the festival do you like?Why?

2.Show a day.Guess

It’s on the twenty-fifth of June.

Learn to read: the twenty-fifth.

It is an ordinal number. Do you know any other ordinal numbers?

3.When is your birthday?

4.揭题

二、While-reading:

1.Just now,We takled about birthdays.Miss Li and her students are talking about birthdays,too,whose birthdays are they talking about?Let’s watch and answer.(观看动画)

2.Ss:They are talking about...(学生回答)

Su Hai and Su Yang are twins,Let’s talk about their birthday first,OK?

(1)What do you want to know ?(教师点课件小结:when,what,how…)

(2) I only have 3 questions here: When’s their birthday? What do they do on their birthday? How do they feel?

Open the book and turn to page 78,try to read freely and underline the answers.

(3)Check.(教师问,学生答,呈现思维导图)

Can you retell Part 1 with the mind map?

(4)Well,Let’s read: Attention the pronounciation and intonation.

3.What about Mike's birthday? Can you finish the mind map?

(1)What should we do?(课件出示自学的步骤提示)

(2)Work in groups of four.

(3)Let’s say sth. about Mike’s birthday with your mind map.You also can talk about it with your good friend.

(4)根据思维导图一起复述第二段课文。

(5)Let’s read.(特别注意: on the eighth of April,have a party,eat the birthday together, play some games)

三、Post- reading

  1.Look at the mind map here,can you find something different between their birthdays?Of course ,Su Hai and Su Yang’s birthday is on...but Mike’s birthday is on...

Can you say something more?Try to use Su Hai and Su Yang...,but Mike...

引出:Different countries, different cultures.

But now , a lot of people in China eat birthday cakes or have parties on their birthdays.引出:The world cultures are fusion.

  2.I have a picture book about birthday.Do you want to read?

  Enjoy the picture book.

  3.Let’s talk and write:My birthday.

4.At last,let’s ask ourselves.

Who gives you birth(生命)?

When’s your mother’s birthday? And when’s your father’s birthday?

What do you usually do on your parents’ birthdays?

Don’t tell me right now, just think it over.

四、Homework

 1.Listen, read  and copy the story time .

 2.Know more about birthdays in different countries, share in groups.
